When I was as you are now, towering in the confidence of twenty-one, little did I suspect that I should be at forty-nine, what I now am.
Samuel Johnson, Letter to Bennet Langton
This past weekend was incredibly eventful. Some things that happened:
I turned twenty-one! I think that my friends/family were more excited by this than I was, really. Courtesy of Richard, I finally got to try the vaunted burnt almond torte from Prantl’s Bakery, a Pittsburgh classic.
I spent most of Saturday at the ACF cell leader retreat, where the baton is semi-officially passed to next year’s cell leaders.
I drove home to see Annabel’s baptism on Easter Sunday. In an interesting coincidence, Iris and Isabel also got baptized this Easter. I set a new personal record time for the drive back to New Jersey, but I won’t mention what it is so that I don’t give my mom a heart attack. On the way back to Pittsburgh, I drove a little more cautiously, since it was pouring.
This is not a very long post, but it contains three pretty important events in my life, so I figured it was worth posting. I have some more exciting things planned for May, if I can survive the rest of the semester.
